Illyrian Polish Vampire Squid Swatch and Review

Welcome to September's 30 Days of Color Challenge! We're doing another 30 days of swatching and I am so excited! I've been struggling with blogging and I think this challenge will help me get back in to the flow of things. Today's prompt is Red and I pulled out a new to me indie- Illyrian Polish namely Vampire Squid! I bought this and The Kraken during their Memorial Day sale and have really been looking forward to wearing both.

I Trust Indie Nail Polish- Some of my favorite indies!

Today's post was very difficult for me to write. By now I'm sure you are up to date with the recent troubles in indie nail polishland. The brand at the center of this horrible situation is a brand that I had loved and supported for over an year. To say my faith in indie polish has been shaken is an understatement.

I have been asking myself "what brands will you support from now on?" And then Debbie aka The Crumpet posted about a link up asking bloggers the very same question... and that is how this post came into being.

So without further ado here are the indies I still have faith in-

HPB Presents- I Love Nail Polish Neon Rosebud (H) Review and Swatches

Purchased by Me

I was playing around with shutter speed in this macro. It's a very exaggerated holographic effect  but oh so pretty :)

Welcome to this month's Hobby Polish Blogger's Link-Up! The theme of the month is Neon and while I do not have a traditional manicure to share with you, I do have a pretty awesome ILNP UCC flakie polish to share with you. I'm very late to the game when it comes to this collection (even though I've had it for ages, well 22 weeks to be exact smdh). Better later than never I guess?!

Update on Mentality Nail Polish

I was going to post this last night but my body refused to co-operate. The fact that I waited till this morning to write this post has made it a lot easier to compose. I have been contemplating Mentality's customer service (or lack of) for over a week (aka when I re-commenced blogging) but yesterday's actions (this post in particular)  made my decision for me.

I was going to post about how I do not agree with their handling of the situation. I also planned on stating that I would not be reviewing their products anymore.

Then the company's co-owner posted this on their Facebook page and sort of made that announcement for me.

I can not even begin to fathom the logic behind their handling of this whole ordeal and my heart goes out to all of those affected. I hope you all make a quick recovery and am so sorry you had to go through all this in the first place.

If you would like to more information please check out these posts-

Jessica of Be Happy and Polish has compiled a list of  posts-

Anne of Betty's Beauty Bombs (the post I linked to previously has been updated)-

If you are considering trashing your Mentality's please make sure to dispose of them safely. Nicole of Bedlam Beauty has post with the appropriate links-

Alternatively you could wait till Zoya's Earth Day promo which is quite a while away but at least you can be assured that they will dispose of it in a safe manner.

Thanks for stopping by!

Let's Catch Up!

Welcome to today's post lovely readers! I just returned from a wedding (first in the family this generation, much excite!) and finally feel like blogging again!

Henna is such an integral part of Indian weddings and one of my favorite things ever!

Some of you may have noticed that I've been posting very sporadically here and on social media. No, I did not fall off the face of the Earth but it does feel like it (to me at least) because I haven't been able to paint my nails at all for the past two months.
